“Since the early 60s, the Institute has carried out a number of researches in order to clarify the reasons of increase of the number of accidents with the second generation jet aircraft.”
New methods of accident investigation were introduced involving the use of flight data from emergency recorders. These methods not only allow determining the immediate cause of an accident or crash, but also evaluating the reasons of the crew's wrong actions in the critical flight situations. The Institute creates and keeps improving the methods and techniques of flight information recovery.
