In accordance to its status of a parent enterprise in charge of prototype flight testing, the Institute offers the following testing-support services to construction offices:

  • the testing airfield with a proper service package;
  • the airborne command and measurement post based on the II-76MD aircraft
  • for information support when testing manned, unmanned, and space objects - on long unequipped ranges;
  • advanced development of various issues of flight dynamics, engine units, - control systems, and instrumentation components using flying laboratories and flying models;
  • self-supported conduction of the most complex tests, such as critical flight modes, structural strength, flutter, assessment of flight control and navigation equipment and weapon system components,electromagnetic safety, etc.;
  • participation of the Institute's experts in aerospace machinery prototype testing, including certification;

  • use of the GLL-31 and GLL-VK Flight Experimental Complexes in carrying out research into crucial problems of hypersonic flight, among which the following are the most important:
  • construction of an effective engine unit;
    1. determination of an aircraft's aerodynamic configuration;
    2. creation of heat-protective material and development of a structure of aircraft and engine heat-protection;
    3. research into flight dynamics and construction of a control system. Traditionally, the Institute gives recommendations and exercises assessment of aircraft operational and performance characteristics.<<Back
